... which is a bit of a problem if you "close the app to the systray", or - even worse - if you check the option "start in the systray".
I use Gnome 2.30.2 here, Ubuntu Lucid 64 bit.
Bye.

OK, that's it!
There's no soundmenu in Lucid, only in Maverick.
Now I see if I can install it... stay tuned! ))))
Thank You, bye.

If there is no soundmenu in lucid then it was my fault when upgraded the lucid package
Can you confirm that there was not an indicator in Lucid ? I dont have lucid installed at this moment to check

Well, there is a volume indicator. If I click on it, I see:
- sound off;
- a bar for sound regulation;
- sound preferences.
Nothing else, no player-related items. If I start Rythmbox, for example, I can see its own icon in the systray (as I used to see guayadeque icon before).
And to install the new soundmenu in lucid is a bit... mmmhhh...
I should add a non offcial repo, then dist-upgrade, which would mean:
180 upgraded packeges, 24 new installd, 4 removed.
I can live without that.
If I may be of some more help, for the little I can do and understand, please ask me.
Thank You and bye.

Lucid does have the indicator-sound package, but it is only v. 0.2.6 and doesn't support music player integration. Maverick has v. 0.5.0.
Also, clicking the "X" close window button doesn't close the player but minimises it to the sound menu, but because Lucid doesn't support players in the sound menu, g-deque can only be closed by killing the process.

This feature is also missing from Parsix 3.06r1. I used to be able to minimize to tray. Now i can not do that.

Still no systray icon on Ubuntu 10.10. I can't use guayadeque anymore because it starts to systray =/

On ubuntu 10.10 the package is compiled with soundmenu support. You can bring back guayadeque clickin in the guayadeque name on sound menu indicator.
