Hello there. I'm trying to build guayadeque from svn on Fedora 15.
I keep getting an error when trying to install the dependencies though.
Actually, none of the packages needed seem to be available.
Could someone help?

Have you built it on other Fedora releases? I'm on 14, and I've built Guayadeque on 12 and 13 as well. All the dependencies should be available, but many have different names than the Debian packages in the guide. I could try to put together a list if it would help (if your problem isn't just with 15 specificially).

Ok, I have a list for you. There might be a package or 2 that you don't need, but it won't hurt to install them. Maybe I'll do a fresh install of 15 on my old laptop and test this, but give these a try...
First, to get the equivalent of the Debian/Ubuntu "build-essential", do the following as root:
yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
then do a standard yum install of the following:
cmake
gcc-c++
gettext
wxGTK
wxGTK-devel
taglib-devel
sqlite-devel
libcurl-devel
gnutls-devel
dbus-devel
gstreamer-devel
flac-devel
libgpod-devel
subversion
subversion-libs
This doesn't include libindicate. I think that's the Ubuntu message-indicator thing and not available in Fedora. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. You'll get an error to the effect of "no indicator support!" when you build, but you can ignore it.

First of all, thank you both for replying.
Rotwang, thank so very much for helping me out.
Guayadeque is installed and working flawlessly, so grateful for this.
There's just one thing, of minor importance though:
When using alt+del to launch Guayadeque, I just get its folder in my Home directory.
What is more, I can't use the tray to hide/show the window. Its menu does work though.
Is this how it should be, because of the fact that it's not officialy available to Fedora users?
Or should I do something about this?

You're welcome. Good to know I didn't leave anything out. As far as the alt+del launder and tray issues go...I have no idea. Is alt+del a shortcut you set up yourself? I think these might be Gnome 3 issues, and I haven't used it yet. Maybe somebody here has tested Gnome 3 and will have more of a clue. It might be worth making a new thread about it so the non-Fedora users will read it, or you could try asking on the Fedora forums. I'm downloading Fedora 15 now and I'll try it out on the craptop later tonight or tomorrow.

No, I just am a complete idiot; It's Alt+F2 what I meant to write.
Lack of sleep and silly excuses, please show some understanding.
You're right, that's what I'm going to do first thing in the morning.
Thank you for taking the time. I don't know if it's you or some insane hormones of mine, but I'm almost touched.
Certainly off-topic:
You are going to need a hell lot of shortcuts to use Gnome 3.
It's good though, I even get excited when I mess things up due to its complexity.
I really am not sure that this is what they had in mind, but still.

Ah, ok. I still have no idea, though. I like new stuff, but I'm kind of dreading Gnome 3. I'll see tomorrow. At least we're not suffering with Unity on Ubuntu. ;]

Haven't really checked Unity myself but yes, I've read enough to know what you're talking about.
For what it's worth, let me just tell you that you need to press Alt so that the "Shut Down" button will appear. It seems that not many people know about this.
So, good luck!
