guayadeque menu disappeared
I have seen similar reports of this from ppl who tried the global menu applet and seems removing the package dont solve the problem. If I find the link I will post the info.

From http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=987341:
open gconf-editor
Code:
gconf-editor
and then go to this path
Code:
/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/gtk_modules
There you see the entry for "globalmenu-gnome", just un-check it and it's back to normal.

Hi! The problem is that I don't have
/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/gtk_modules
in gconf
I have tried to crate a new user, log in and start guayadeque... no menu!
The problem isn't in any config file in the home directory

Sorry if it sounds daft advise:
purge everything to do with Guayadeque: uninstall, delate .guayadeque folder (keeping database), delate guayadeque folder.
Reboot and run locate guayadeque to see if there is something left and if so purge. Then reinstall again.

The same here, no menu.
I have a new installation and no globalmenu-gnome. Doesn't works with metacity and/or compiz.
And now.... what a promise.
I change my GTK-theme from "A new hope" to "Ambiance" -> I have a menu bar
I change back to "A new hope" -> I have a menu bar
I restart guayadeque -> I don't have a menu bar
