Using a lot of different players in both linux and windows is always almost impossible to keep stable database of play counts and last played time for my music. for that I use last.fm because it collects this data from all the players I use and keep it all in one place. I base several of my playlist in this data, trying to give the songs I haven't played in a long time and/or the songs I have played very few times a bigger chance of playback. a nice feature would be having a way of downloading the last.fm statistic and adding those to the songs in guayadeque. I know is possible because I've done with itunes in windows using this http://code.google.com/p/scrobblemapper/ which works fairly well.

Sounds like a good idea. It would be nice if you add it to the idea torrent https://sourceforge.net/apps/ideatorren ... eatorrent/ so that people can vote it and anonbeat can give it the right priority.

Tamalet, would it be an idea to have that address as a sticky somewhere. (apologies if it is). I for one was unaware of the "ideatorrent"

one could use lfmCOL.pl

It is a generic last.fm data collector client for Windows, Linux and OS X. It collects some user specific data and stores them into a XML file. The file can than be loaded into any program that supports xml import. For example: You can import the data into Excel or a XML database and use advanced features like: searching, sorting, filtering, stats, ...

Perhaps someone can shed some light on how this works? It seems to me it would store things bases on last.fm's methods?

edit-nevermind, I was thinking this would be an alternative to something else that was mentioned some time ago, but this seems perfect for what the op suggested.
