Notifications on key-press

In my opinion it would be great to get the notifications on key-press.
Lets say you are listening to a long playlist while working at your pc. It would be great to just press a key and the notification came up.
what do you think?

I think that there is a specification that has to be respected that says when a music player should show notifications.
But I'm sure this could be done with some external script that could be bound to a global shortcut.

I have written a small perl script which show a notification with cover art (if available) and current track info. If you're interested, PM me and I will send you it with small instructions.

Well done mekanix,
If you had the time maybe you could write a small "how to" to put it somewhere in the documentation.
I would be very nice toopen a section for scripts or any other tweaks from people so they are all easily accessible by everyone.
