Multivalue tags?

Post by laite »

Hi all. I'm a new to both linux and guayadeque but after testing dozens of different mp3 players I think this one suits my needs the best (and I really like that smart mode :)

One nagging thing, though: Is it possible to use more than one value in tags, especially %GENRE%. For example, I have %GENRE% = "Indie; Electronic" and I would like that song to appear in both "Indie" and "Electronic" categories, instead of creating a new genre called "Indie Electronic" which it does now. Any chance to do this in the future?

This has been requested a few times already.
I don't know if anonbeat has plans to support this in the future, but for now, the way to have multiple genres in Guayadeque is using labels.
The idea is to have one main genre in the Genre tag and as many labels as subgenres you want.
The only problem is that this solution is specific to Guayadeque and you will have to retag your files.

By the way, the best way to see it happening is to support this idea:
