By the way, I've solved the "no tray icon" problem. I just found out in Kubuntu, if you choose to click "integrate to sound menu" below the option to show the tray icon, it will make the tray icon to disappear. I've unclicked it and now it's working fine.

@pensadorlouco that what the Sound Menu specification says: you should have either the Sound Menu integration or the AppIndicator/Tray Icon, not both.

I`m sorry for my last post. After purge and reinstalling guayadeque-svn (with backups of all my playlists of curse) - everything is fine. Again - thanks for this great work.

Hi anonbeat,

I upgraded as soon as this new version was available and have never gotten it to work right. The first time I installed, my library only had about 4,000 of the 40,000 tracks it should. This morning I decided to start from scratch, deleted the .guayadeque folder, replaced the copy of the .guayadeque folder from before installing this version and this time I actually have nothing. I tried this:

Try this :
close guayadeque
copy the ~/.guayadeque/guayadeque.db into ~/guayadeque/Collections/4EAB029C
start guayadeque

and still have nothing. Note that in the instructions above you say to copy the database from the .guayadeque folder into the (non-hidden) guayadeque folder. Is this correct? I've tried both and when I re-open guayadeque it fails, with this output

No sorry that is not correct. If you have a copy of the old .guayadeque folder put it in place and it should upgrade allowing you to see all the tracks. If its not the case let me know.

I do have a copy of the old .guayadeque folder, I put it in place (in my home folder) and the above error is what I get. If I start again, after the failure, I end up with a blank guayadeque, with none of my settings or library.

Can you do this steps ?
1.- keep that copy of the .guayadeque in another folder so you can keep your ratings and playlists
2.- remove the .guayadeque folder
3.- start guayadeque and configure the default collection with your music paths, cover names, etc
4.- close guayadeque and go to ./guayadeque/Collections and see what is the folder of the default collection it should be a 8 hex digits string
5.- copy the saved guayadeque.db from your back up to that folder overwritting the existing guayadeque.db on that folder
6.- start guayadeque and check that all tracks appears
7.- let me know how it goes

Thanks for your help

THAT did it! Guayadeque created a collection with a different hex string. It's updating now, but there's 42k tracks, with correct last played dates, etc.

Thanks!

Hi anon,
I have just noticed that the player starts with the first track in the play list, after closing and reopening guayadeque when the option „restore the play position“ is activated. I tried that with the option „restore the play position for tracks longer than 3 minutes.
