Hi anonbeat, of course not, I 'll be back home next week and than I'll drop you an email. So far Guayadeque is the only player which can handle such a huge collection without crashing.

Besides Guayedeque tried so far....

Ubuntu:
Banshee
Rhythmbox
Exaile,
Songbird

-> These programms can handle librarys up to a maximum of 30.000 but than... getting slower and slower and finally saying goodbye.

Windows 7:
iTunes
Mediamonkey
WinAmp

-> No way. I am running iTunes with a 1,3 TB library (about 188.000 songs) - that's the max before iTunes gets nervous.

So, you see, I am very glad I found Guayedeque.

Hi!
I want to write a review of Guayadeque and I would like to mention that it was tested on a 4TB library. I'd like to ask you some question, but don't worry if you don't know all the answers.

How long did it take to scan your library?
How much memory does Guayadeque use with your library?
Could you tell me how do other players handle you library? Which ones can you use?
How long do they take to scan your library and how much memory do they use?

Hi tamalet,

- If I remember right, Guaydeque scanned the complete library within 12 hrs
- No idea about the memory
- Right now, no other player can handle my library. I tried Banshee, Rhythmbox, Exaile, Songbird - they scanned the libray within 1 - 2 days, but... if you do a query (like "Depeche Mode") they crash. Besides that, the performance while playing music is quite lousy. Forget about adding songs to playlists etc. - from that point of view Guaydeque really does a good job, though the search for a band or a song also takes about 10 - 20 secs.

Why did I not know about this program sooner?!?! I am now spreading the word to all my music-fan friends!!!

You've ended my (what I thought would be) never-ending search for the perfect music player. My only suggestion are specific hotkeys for Play/Pause etc... (configurable? maybe like Clementine has in the Preferences box) I am on XFCE and it's a pain to figure out things like that.

Anyways, PLEASE keep up the great work!!! Too many times I've found an application I love only to have it abandoned by the developer shortly after.
