I came across Guayadeque a few days ago and love it for internet radio. It works in xubuntu 16.04 but I'm updating to 18.04 (newly installed in the same device, dual boot). At first it would only play a stream for about 10 seconds. I tried several things (and installed LAME) and now I get a GStreamer error ' Could not resolve server name.'

Everything looks ok! Has anyone else run into this issue and found a workaround?

Try to increase the internet radio buffer in Preferences -> Online

If that dont helps you, run guayadeque from console and let me know the output of the console while trying to play the radiostation.

Thanks for your help

Thank you for your quick response. I'm very grateful for your attention.

I hope this helps. I think this is the best radio player I have ever used, and I'm gutted that it doesn't like xubuntu 18.04 (i386). (Its the way it recognises tracks and records them as separate file that makes it different.)

I've played with the Radio settings. The stream settings for buffer and bit rate do not seem to have predictable long term beneficial effects.

I do get a longer play period with the maximum (1024) buffer size.

The connection is by WiFi. The same device running Ubuntu 16.04 (from a different partition) works perfectly.

Strangely, I think setting the language to 'English', rather than default may enable play for longer.

(The GStreamer error message was the result of checking the Proxy box. Doh!)

This is the output when I started the player from the terminal, and selected my present favourite station. You can see the timing from the terminal record. I then closed from the gui, not immediately.
