I have been using guaydeque since Ubuntu 12.04 and it is an amazing application. But it seems that there has not been any activity for more than a year and the Ubuntu ppa has not been updated since 14.04. The last time annonbeat was on this forum was one year ago. Is the project still alive?

AFAIK, he is doing on QT port but that's it, he didn't share any info how does that go. And while I really can wait for that and I really can live with G as is it would bi nice if the current version is mantained in a way that in can be installed on new version of ubuntu. Nothing more.

Good to hear that the project is still alive though definitely needs some maintenance :) I have tried a few alternatives but this is by far the best music player.

I am working in a new program to manage the music. It will not be as the way guayadeque is. It will be new philosophy, new design, new interface, new features, etc

I have almost no time to work on it but I want to have something done. I cant be working in both projects and keeping the program with many changes introduced by the latest releases.

It is sad Jaun .... as I think Guayadeque has been the best music management software out there. And unfortunately very much unsung. SInce Guayu stopped working in ubuntu completely, i've been back to clementine. Device management is incredibly bad in clementine.

I'm desperate for a decent library management program.

I trust you that whatever you're working on will be great.. I cannot wait ...

Agreed with coacharnold. Guayadeque is the best music management software. I am sure anonbeat will come up with something even greater but in the meantime guayadeque is a mature and reliable software, it is too good to be abandoned like this.

BTW, I am using Guayadeque 3.5 svn on Ubuntu 15.04. It still works. 3.7 kind of crashes. http://guayadeque.org/index.php?p=/disc ... id#Item_10

Just, please, keep the filters so that I can play certain year, or certain year from certain genre, or some other combo that filters provide.

Nice, although, when it comes to SW I'll put function over form anytime. I'm tired of "beautiful" but useless desktop software.
When we can expect first beta?
