Is it possible to copy to a folder when copying to an androi

Post by oggie »

I see that when I select a song and copy it to my android phone, it just copies it to the root directory.
So for example, it ends up being:
/Artist - Album/song.mp3

However, I prefer it to be:
/Music/Artist/Album/song.mp3

It's much more cleaner and the root of my sd card isn't so cluttered. Is there anyway to modify this so it puts it to the card this way? I know that is how Banshee copies files over.

You can set this in the properties of the portable device. Go to the Portable devices menu and open the android device entry. Once opened go to the library and right click in any place and select Properties.

There you can set the audio folder, transcoding formats, playlist formats and many other options.

Thanks for your help

I couldn't find it at first, but I've now found the properties. Not very intuitive on how to get there.

Also, I don't see any android device entry.

And if I save these settings, does it get retained so that it's that way the next time I open guayadeque?

The configurations are saved in a small file in the device so they are retained.

I agree that the properties of devices are not very easy to discover.

In my opinion the properties should go in the Preferences.
I'm not sure what's the best way to choose the specific device (combo box, tabs, buttons), but that's the place I first went when I wanted to configure my device.
