Puddletag: nice tag editor

Post by tamalet »

Although it's not directly related to Guayadeque, I thought it could be interesting to people that visit this forum to have a look at a relatively new tag editor for linux called Puddletag: http://puddletag.sourceforge.net/index.html

It has just been reviewed in webupd8: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/01/puddleta ... ditor.html

I have used it for some time. I specially like the ability to show the "extended tags", that is ALL the tags of the files. You will be surprised to see how much crap is hidden in your files. You can delete them and create your own tags too.
Just a warning, I just noticed that most of my files have lost the embedded lyrics. I'm not sure if it's related to the use of this program, but you may want to backup your files before using it, just in case.

I had a look at it some weeks ago: I couldn't use it because it maximized well beyond the limits of my screen.... It may be less buggy now.

I never had that problem, but it's true that it has some bugs.
For me what's a bit annoying is that you have to manually refresh directories when you make a change, but at least it's better that in the previous version.
